I think therefore

I am Andres, the Program Manager for Outreach and Research Activities at Center for Data Science at NYU where I’m constantly looking for points of intersection and collaboration with potential partners. If you’re interested in partnering with the NYU Center for Data Science, please reach out to me.

I’m driven to solve complex problems with creativity and am big on data-driven results; I believe that a system needs feedback in order to improve itself. A first-generation American, the son of immigrants who left their countries (Cuba and Colombia) to study in NYC at Columbia University. I was born in Manhattan, at the Columbia University hospital; a New Yorker by birth and heart (tourists, please treat sidewalks like roads and pull over if you need to text or stare up at the buildings). Despite my roots with Columbia, I defected and earned my Masters of Science at New York University’s School of Engineering. I’m fluent in English and Spanish with a basic understanding of Portuguese. Todo bien.

When I was 10 years old I picked up a guitar and have been jamming and making up songs since; mostly acoustic folk stuff, blues, jazz, and flamenco. Taking photos and traveling are some other favorite activities. I currently reside in Manhattan. Please feel free to send me an email and say hello. (ab4829@nyu.edu)
