About Me

Hi, I’m Andres, I am the Program Manager for Outreach and Research Activities at Center for Data Science at NYU where I am constantly looking for points of intersection and collaboration with potential partners. If you are interested in partnering with the NYU Center for Data Science, please reach out to me.

I also develop websites. Take a look at my portfolio to see some of my work.

I’m driven to solve complex problems with creativity and am big on data driven results; I believe that a system needs feedback in order to improve itself. I am a first generation American, I am the son of immigrants who left their countries (Cuba and Colombia) to study in New York City at Columbia University. Born in Manhattan, at the Columbia University hospital; a New Yorker by birth and more importantly heart (tourists, please treat the sidewalks like a highway and pull over if you want to stare up at the buildings). Despite my roots with Columbia, I defected from the family tradition and earned my Masters of Science from New York University’s School of Engineering. I am fluent in English and Spanish with a basic understanding of Portuguese.

I am interested in the idea of learning how to learn more efficiently and training the mind; I try to meditate and strengthen my concentration muscle every day. Curiosity is a trait I’m very lucky to possess; question everything and everyone. When I was 10 years old I picked up a guitar and have been jamming and making up songs since then. I play mostly acoustic folk stuff, blues, jazz, and flamenco. Pictures and traveling all around the globe are some other favorite activities. You can follow me on Instagram to see some of my most recent photos.

I currently reside in Manhattan, a place where I feel very comfortable in my own skin. Please feel free to send me an email and say hello. (ab4829@nyu.edu)
